Oftentimes, somebody with an axiety disorder also suffers from depression. However, it is very important to understand that thereis a difference between anxiety caused by depression, or depression caused by anxiety. This is explained in additional information at: Cure Anxiety Depression.

- panic disorder
- post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- social phobia
If you are typically concerned, this may be due to high-stress eventualities you will be experiencing at home or on the job, and chemical imbalances in the brain caused by food or shortage of amino acids could perform a part in your condition too.
People with OCD, or obsessive compulsive disorder, have to have things in their home or office a certain way, or will develop compulsive habits like opening and closing doors aset number of times every day, or washing their hands numerous times consecutively.
PTSD is the body’s reaction to a threatening or agonizing event that will have taken place in a patient’s life. Youngsters can experience this disorder also and the condition may be indicated by not chatting for months at a time, as well as symptoms like bed wetting and acting out in school.
Most of the people are first trying to heal their depression with natural medication like the supplement mind sooth which contains active natural ingredients like passion flower. Passiflora has stood up well to clinical studies which support its standard use as a soothing and moderating her.

Posted by Womens Issues in Anxiety on October 14th, 2009
It’s not exactly clear as to what causes a panic attack. Sure, a panic attack is the result of a heightened state of anxiety, but what makes anxiety levels peak? By understanding anxiety, one can learn to deal , but it’s not life threatening. Though it often seem so! Some theories that might explain what leads to panic attacks, are:
Biological reasons – panic attacks can be a result of a chemical imbalance in the brain and can run in families. If a member of a family suffers from panic attacks, chances are that other family members will develop it. It has been seen that panic attack sufferers are more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol, undergo a depression or try to commit suicide, as compared to non-sufferers.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – A major life stress or change can lead to panic attacks. The stressor that triggers panic could be an illness, death of a loved one, loss of a job, divorce, financial problems or a miscarriage. These events usually precede the first panic attack. Some women experience an increase in the frequency of panic attacks during pregnancy.
Behavioral theory – You can learn certain negative behaviors or thought patterns that ‘teach’ you to become terrified of panic attacks. This is the beginning of a vicious cycle – as the number and intensity of fears grow, they feed on each other and severely affect the quality of your life.
Flight or fight - Your body’s self preservation response to danger is to increase your heart rate and breathing, tense your muscles and sweat, as itreadies itself to face a life threatening situation. Similar reactions take place during a panic attack.
Though why the body’s self defense system gets triggered when there’s no evident threat or danger, is not clear. During the fight and flight response, hormones are released through the body to prepare you to either fight the danger or run from it!
Now, when you think in a certain way during a panic attack, your body responds to your thoughts and activates the ‘fight and flight’ response. You see, your body can’t tell the difference between your thoughts and reality. While panicking, you keep fearing the worst and wonder what if this were to happen, what if that were to happen, and this turns the fight and flight response on.

Rachel looks in the mirror and notices a mark on her cheek. Immediately her breath becomes shallow, her heart races, her chest tightens, and she feels nauseated. She checks the spot more closely, and sees that itís just a speck of dirt. She washes it off and tells herself firmly that she is fine ñ it wasnít the beginning of skin cancer, it was nothing. Itís gone. She is okay.
Although she keeps telling herself she is okay, hours later, Rachel still doesnít feel okay. What if seeing that spot was a ìsignî? What is she is about to develop skin cancer? What if she already has skin cancer and she just hasnít seen it yet? Should she go see her doctor? Recurring thoughts of cancer hover in the back of her mind for the rest of the day. Weeks later she notices she is still spending an increased amount of time inspecting her skin for unusual marks or blemishes.
Like an estimated 13-16.5% of adults, Rachel has an anxiety disorder. Types of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder.
At times the symptoms of anxiety can become so debilitating that those affected will not leave their home or attend social functions ñ and their lives may become consumed by the effort to avoid people, places or situations which are likely to trigger feelings of anxiety.
Traditional treatment for anxiety disorder has involved medication to help to lessen the symptoms of anxiety, and behavioral therapy to assist with coping and challenging irrational thoughts. Treatment is generally expected to be long term.
Zensight Process offers new hope to those with anxiety. In many cases, a practitioner who is very skilled with both Zensight and in working with those with anxiety, can help someone to experience dramatic improvement ñ and in some cases a complete elimination of symptoms ñ in just a few sessions.
In most situations, many individuals will be able to use Zensight on their own ñ without ever consulting a practitioner at all ñ to considerably improve and sometimes even eliminate their symptoms altogether. Those who do choose to work with a therapist or practitioner to help support and accelerate their healing will also benefit from doing Zensight self-healing in between sessions, in order to obtain the best results.
How to Use Zensight Process
Zensight Process involves working with the subconscious mind in a way that is similar to hypnosis ñ and yet no hypnosis is actually used. Instead, we begin by creating a ìhealing symbolî. This symbol can be a word, picture, or colour. Some people choose to use a symbol such as ìoceanî. They then can focus on the word ìoceanî when that feels right, and at other times may actually visualize the ocean.
When this healing symbol is used or focused upon with intent, it allows the fears, concerns, and ìblocksî that someone is experiencing to gently heal and transform.
The healing symbol is then used together with healing statements and visualization, to soften, dissolve and release the concerns that are being experienced.
In a situation of anxiety, the individual is instructed to stop and notice any visual image that comes to mind when she or he thinks about one of their specific concerns ñ and then focus upon this image while connecting with the healing symbol that was chosen.

What is PTSD?
PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) is a serious psychological condition that often results from an emotionally traumatizing event. Patients suffering from this condition experience horrifying thoughts or on the contrary become emotionally numb, in most cases with people that were close to them before the event.
PTSD causes
Post-traumatic stress disorder has gained much public spotlight due to the problems experienced by war veterans, however this condition may result from other events that involve violence and pain, such as:
* Torture, rape, or mugging
* Kidnapping or being held captive
* Childhood abuse
* Serious transportation accidents
* Natural disasters
Events that usually cause this condition are typically putting the person’s life or the life of a close individual into threat. Another type of events causing PTSD is witnessing a disastrous phenomenon, not taking part of it, such as seeing many people die during a train wreck or massive bombing.
PTSD symptoms
Regardless of the event that caused the condition, people report practically the same effects of it – recurring nightmares and daytime flashbacks. Other symptoms associated with this disorder include:
* Sleep disorders
* Emotional numbness
* Vulnerability
* Disinterest in everyday things
* Irritability
* Aggressive and violent behavior
People with PTSD try to avoid situations and places that may remind them of the actual event, because it can bring back unpleasant memories. That is why anniversaries of such events are also typically avoided by people with this condition.
PTSD diagnosis
The condition can be clinically diagnosed in case the symptoms persist occurring for a period longer than one month. Patients, who have been diagnosed with the condition usually develop it in about three months after the event has taken place and the course of disorder varies from one person to another. For some it may take a couple of months and the illness is gone, for others it may become chronic. In some cases the condition can manifest itself in a couple of years after the actual traumatizing event.
PTSD treatment
Patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder are usually treated by medications and by psychological therapy, the both of which can be carefully combined to achieve maximum effect. Cognitive behavioral, group and exposure types of psychotherapy have been observed as the most effective in this condition, helping the patient overcome the effects of the event in a gradual manner. Medications that are employed in most cases of PTSD include serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and benzodiazepine antidepressants such as Xanax.
PTSD facts
About 5.2 million US citizens are affected by Post-traumatic stress disorder. And women are more prone to developing the condition than men.
The disorder can take place at any age, even when being a child, and some studies suggest that this type of anxiety disorders can actually be transmitted through generations.
This condition is typically observed in conjunction with depression, alcohol and drug abuse, or other anxiety disorders.
In complicated cases, the patient may have problem with socializing and having interpersonal communication, especially if the event was caused by a person (rape, torture, mugging, etc.)
Everyday situations can be a source of a flashback or intrusive image to the person with PTSD making him or her feel like the tragic event is happening all over again, and the person becomes detached from the real world.
However, having an experience of a traumatic event doesn’t mean that the person will necessarily develop such a disorder.

Poetry Heals PTSD Just like God’s Gourd for Jonah
Posted by in Uncategorized on August 2nd, 2009
Just as in all things God knows how much each man, woman, and child can take when it comes to bearing grief and sorrow. What I would like to do is tell you how He heals through inspired poetry. Bear with me as I make an analogy to the healing of Jonah’s depression through the precious gourd in Jonah 4:7-11.
It was only at Jonah’s breaking point when he praised the Lord and vowed to do His will (seeing that there was a plan for him that he could not escape.) If I may stretch this a little further to include those persons facing addictions to drugs, alcohol, shopping, gambling, sex, etc. Vastly the above are signals to not being able to cope with their trauma, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is only at the point of surrendering to a Higher Power, as in Jesus Christ, are they (we) able to pick up our cross and move forward. The direction is shown no longer with self-medicating through whatever self-punishing behavior, but with a new way of thinking!
If I may continue to use Jonah’s revelation of the gourd, you may contemplate that the gourd was a tool for relieving Jonah’s depression. Why was Jonah depressed? He was in a traumatic life situation that he was not in control of what was happening to him. Just as those who experience PTSD. God realized that He needed to step in for Jonah as he could not hold in anymore mental distress. It was this Celestial Intervention that comes in the nick of time, through no power but of the Divine. Even though this did not take 10 years to happen (as in the time it usually takes to break down from PTSD) the healing started when the gourd was provided.
Poetry is the tool of Divine Intervention that directly coincides with the gourd. It is an emotional release of blocked feelings that are opened up from the mind’s box of secrets. These secrets were kept veiled (not only from the victim’s mind) but hidden from most of mankind. When there is a combination of surrendering oneself to your Higher Power and using prayer, praise, and contemplation, inspired poetry becomes the mind and soul’s healing revelation!

A panic attack can be caused by a variety of different conditions. Often, those who are highly stressed, worry, and possibly have post traumatic stress syndrome, have panic attacks. Anyone can have them, at almost any time. But for those who experience them more than once or twice in their life, they may need a bit of help to get over them.
The worst part is that although you may not know exactly what your panicking over, your body’s flight or fight button has been pushed. Your heart races, your skin becomes cool and clammy, you may have vision problems, and of course, a paniced look in your eyes. It’s an extremely uncomfortable biological response, especially if you’re not sure what is going on.
There are professional therapists and counselors that can help you deal with a panic attack. They can teach you how to deal with them, give you the knowledge to understand them, and help you quiet your mind and body through them.
There are also herbal remedies for panic attacks as well. You can find a few answers on your Internet, but just as with taking any other drug, speak to your doctor before you begin any serious herbal remedies.
Having a panic attack is not fun, it’s important that you learn how to control them, deal with them, and know that you can do something about them. It’s also important that you have support for panic attacks, they are real, and you are having a very real biological response whether there is something to panic over or not so don’t try to deal with them on your own, seek out panic attack help.
