Best Sunless Tanning Lotions – Tanning Without Damagin your Skin
Posted by in Uncategorized on March 8th, 2010
More and more people find those who have dark complexion sexier and more attractive. Dark skin isn’t only appealing but it looks healthier than a pale skin as well. There are different ways to have a darker skin, you can go to a tanning salon, or just go to the beach and lie down under the heat of the sun.
Sunbathing is the cheapest and easiest way to get a tan, but it has risks involved. Too much exposure under the sun can cause sun burn. Sunbathing can also give you an uneven darker look. Those who are frequently exposed under the heat of the sun oftentimes have premature wrinkles and their skin tends to age faster.
Others opt for tanning beds and booths as ultraviolet rays don’t burn the skin as a trip to the beach can. But these devices emit great amounts of UV rays, and it can penetrate to the skin more deeply that contributes to a much greater risk of skin cancer. UV rays also cause premature aging, wrinkling, sagging of the skin, and some eye problems such as cataracts and retinal damage.
That’s why it is best to choose sunless tanning products. With sunless tanning, you can achieve that perfect tan you’ve always wanted without damaging your skin. Sunless tanning lotions can give you an easy, fast, and safe way to tan as long as you follow the instructions and apply it properly.
Sunless tanning lotions contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) that reacts with your dead skin cells causing it to darken. It acts the same way as getting yourself a tan from the sun or a tanning bed, only that it is safer and it lasts for only about a week. As the skin sheds dead skin cells, the tan also wears away.
The best sunless tanning lotions don’t make you look orange unlike those substandard products. It can give you that perfect tan without becoming a walking carrot stick. It provides you that sun-kissed look without spending a lot of time on the salons or at the beach, and without having the risks of skin cancer.

Age brings wisdom but along with it comes some wrinkles too. For most people, this sign of aging is something that they would rather do without. More and more people desire youthful looking skin and go to great lengths to achieve it. There are many cosmetics doing the rounds in the shops and there is a great market for these too. Most of these creams and lotions promise a lot more than they can deliver and they come with side effects. Chemical peels for skin rejuvenation is recommended as an effective solution for aging skin and damaged skin.
There are several reasons apart from aging which cause the skin to lose its youthful elasticity. Blemishes and acne can leave unsightly marks and spots on the skin. Sun damage causes the skin to develop dark spots and wrinkles appear faster than they should. Pigmentation also may affect the skin in an adverse manner. Fine lines appear under the eye and lips very early in life due to a fast paced lifestyle coupled with lack of sleep.
In the chemical peels procedure for skin rejuvenation, chemicals are applied to the face in varying proportions depending upon the requirement. This acts like an exfoliant and removes the dead skin cells so that the underlying new skin is visible which looks fresh and youthful. Chemicals applied depend on whether the treatment is for superficial or deep layers of the skin. Superficial chemical peels require no downtime and are also referred to as lunchtime peels. These are ideal for fine lines and spots caused due to sun damage and stress.
Alpha hydroxyl acids are now being used as chemical peels to treat acne and blemishes. They are effective in reducing the sebum in hair follicles which considerably reduces acne formation. This can also cause the skin to look lighter and clearer than ever before. For wrinkles and irregular pigmentation doctors opt for treating the middle or deep layers of the skin. A peeling agent with more concentration is used which softens wrinkles and smoothens the texture of the skin. This causes the skin to tighten and look younger. There are chemical peels with higher concentration to treat severely damaged skin very effectively.
Plastic Surgery Massachusetts – Chemical peels are a great option for skin rejuvenation. Dr. Eliopoulos is committed to providing the highest quality of comprehensive cosmetic plastic surgery in her state-of-the-art medical facility.

The increasing number of anti aging products that are available in the market attests to the age-old quest of human beings to preserve their youth or at least delay aging. There has been much progress in scientific studies about certain compounds that effectively combat the signs of aging. However, there is so much confusion in the market because of the availability of so many products claiming that they can delay aging or even make a person look younger again. Because of the very high demand for these products, many unscrupulous persons are trying to take advantage of it by marketing products that are doubtful when it comes to their effectiveness and safety.
An important guide when evaluating anti aging products is to look at their ingredients. After all, it is these ingredients that perform the desired effects. Moreover, some ingredients may not only be ineffective but may also cause harm to befall the person using a particular product. It is also these ingredients or chemicals that have been investigated in various studies. An important finding in these studies is that oxidation is one of the causes of cellular aging. Meanwhile, various compounds have been found to counter the effects of oxidants.
Antioxidants are common ingredients in effective anti aging products. These include a number of vitamins, alpha-hydroxy acids, and beta-hydroxy salicylic acid. Alpha-hydroxy acids and beta-hydroxy salicylic acid have also been found to be effective in getting rid of dead skin cells. This capability reduces the possibility that these dead skin cells will find themselves in the skin pores. Meanwhile, vitamins C, D, E and K have been found to act as antioxidants that eliminate free radicals. It is these free radicals that cause oxidation and skin aging. Meanwhile, a number of hormone supplements have also been discovered to have anti aging effects and these include DHEA, thyroid hormones, melatonin, testosterone, and progesterone.
If you want to combat the effects of aging, but don’t know how to choose the best anti aging products, then visit http://www.reducethesignsofaging.com.

Posted by in Uncategorized on February 22nd, 2010
If you thought stretchmarks only formed when you get pregnant or become overweight, rethink this. That’s not always the case. A lot of times both children and teenagers get stretchmarks because of growth spurts, and this can happen with male and female bodybuilders too. As a result, people often wonder whether it’s possible to eliminate stretchmarks.
Usually, skin has the elasticity of a rubber band. Like a rubber band, though, it breaks when the stretch is too much. The skin actually tears with intense stretching. The skin tears, and then heals, creating a scar, so products don’t usually eliminate stretch marks completely. They do, however, help the scars to fade and be much less visible, or almost completely invisible.
One approach is to apply topical treatments, like creams, oils, or lotions, regularly. These creams contain ingredients that exfoliate, or remove dead outer skin layers, which helps to fade the scars.
Some companies offer products that are combinations of essential oils or ‘miracle creams’ that actually heal the scars and cause them to disappear. In reality, though, while some creams can decrease the brightness or help the scars fade, the products don’t entirely eliminate stretch marks. A product that actually helps tighten the skin, as well as offering a fading element is the best bet.
Some doctors promote medical procedures that are supposed to help eliminate stretchmarks. Abdominplasty is the chanciest of all of these treatments. It requires that a tiny amount of fat be removed as well as the stretchmark-scarred skin. This is helpful, but usually only done on those who are just a bit overweight, and have very little extra fat that requires removal.
In comparison, dermabrasion is a medical procedure that does not require surgery, in which doctors exfoliate, or remove, the top layer of dead skin cells. This top layer of skin is peeled or abraded off, which causes the scarring to be less obvious, but dermabrasion does not completely eliminate stretchmarks either.
Doctors don’t agree about how effective laser treatments are for stretch marks. Some maintain that laser treatments will fade the scars by up to 50 percent, but others believe that they don’t work nearly this well. Both the laser surgeons and doctors do agree, though, that the laser treatments available right now can’t completely eliminate stretchmarks.
The best way to deal with stretch marks is to keep from getting them in the first place by staying at a healthy body weight and by keeping your skin healthy. However, if you’re already beyond this, consider different ways to EliminateStretchmarks. Stay hydrated and keep skin healthy by drinking large quantities of water. Invest in quality creams and lotions for moisturizing the skin, and remember to use a firming element as well, to maintain maximum skin elasticity and avoid the development of stretchmarks.
Your skin is the most important aspect of your physical appearance, it should not be scarred. Discover what it takes to eliminate stretch marks at EliminateStretchmarksNow.com

Effectively Innovative or Unfortunately Inefficient?
With the fixation of many in looking younger and more beautiful, which does not exclude men; two industries have combined to produce one type of product that is geared towards the creation of the ultimate item for consumption that can achieve a youthful and beautiful look. The anti-aging industry, which is expected to grow to more than $5 billion in the United States and to increase to almost $300 billion globally, is a testament to the number of people who want to defy the natural aging process and look younger as they grow older. The sunless tanning sector of the indoor tanning industry, which commands 17% of the said $5 billion dollar industry, has taken advantage of the market for tanning and anti-aging products. A tanned complexion creates a youthful and more beautiful skin in that it hides blemishes and age spots, while at the same time manifesting an aura of activeness and vigor. Because of this, sunless tanning technology is perfect to be combined with anti-aging properties.
And so, it has come to be. You can now buy anti-aging sunless tanning lotions, creams and sprays. Instead of a tanned skin hiding blemishes, its regular use can also fill wrinkles and prevent the appearance of fine lines and age spots. The question now is that is this really possible? How so? The answer is quite simple actually; to create an anti-aging and self tanning product, their active ingredients need to be successfully combined in order to achieve the desired effect of a truly youthful skin, with the healthy and beautiful glow of a tan.
The active ingredient that is crucial in every sunless tanning product is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a colorless sugar that is approved by the FDA as safe for topical use. DHA causes a darkening reaction on the dead skin cells in the outermost layers of the skin. This is what produces the tanning effect. Because dead skin cells are sloughed off in 5 to 7 days, the darkened skin also slowly wears out to reveal the true color of the skin—much like how natural tans disappear after about a week. Now DHA is safely and successfully combined with Matrixyl, which is the active ingredient for anti-aging solutions, to produce anti-aging sunless tanning products. Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Penta peptide) is a class of amino acids that stimulate the body to produce more elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid. How is this significant? Collagen is considered to be the foundation of the skin, making the skin firm and compact, while elastin accounts for the skin’s elasticity and its ability to bounce back when pulled. Hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, has the ability to deter and minimize the manifestation of aging symptoms like wrinkles, age spots and fine lines.
With the combination of DHA and Matrixyl, anti-aging sunless tanning products make sense. These two active ingredients can certainly act in the dual action of giving people beautiful tans, while at the same time defying the natural skin aging process.

Getting Rid of Wrinkles – Find out My Secret for Getting Rid of Wrinkles and Looking Fabulous
Posted by in Uncategorized on February 3rd, 2010
If you are reading this article then i can tell that you are interested on how to get rid of your wrinkles. Well its your lucky day as I am going to tell you my secret for getting rid of wrinkles fast and easy. I am a working mom and i am in my mid thirties now and wrinkles have been popping up in my face left and right. About 5 years ago I noticed some fine lines developing on my forehead and in the side of my eyes, of course I neglected them thinking that that will be as far as it will go, but fast forward a couple of years later and my face was riddled with lines, making me look older than I really am.
So I made it my mission to find out how to get rid of wrinkles and as and as easy as I can. I made some research regarding about the subject and I have found out a couple of interesting facts about the causes of wrinkles and how you can minimize it.
Smoking – smoking is one of the most causes of wrinkles in women and in men. Smoking actually stops your body from producing something called collagen. Now collagen aids our body with the healing of wounds and skin damage. The nicotine you also get from smoking constricts the blood vessels especially the small veins going to your face. That will result to pale skin, ,more dead skin cells and of course wrinkles.
Overexposure to the Sun – Sun worshippers may be all tan and that, but what they don’t know is that they are damaging their skin. The recommended time that the rays of the sun are actually beneficial for us around 6 to 9 am, after that you should stay away from the rays of the sun. However, if your work requires you to be out in the sun, please wear sun glasses as this will protect your eyes from the UV rays but also prevent your from too much squinting that results to ‘crows feet’. Please also wear sun block all the time, so that you will not burn you skin and loose its elasticity.
My Secret – Now the above two tips are just preventive steps so you won’t worsen your wrinkles. My personal secret that I use for getting rid of my wrinkles is I am using a one step system specifically designed for removing wrinkles. In the system that I used I actually got amazing results in less than 30 days, and the catch is I even get to used it for free.
There are different kinds of anti wrinkle treatments out there that promises great results, but was not designed for all skin types. This can damage your skin and lead to more skin problems. This is my no.1 recommendation for getting rid of wrinkles in as short as 30 days for FREE!. If you are ready to get rid of your wrinkles please click here.

Traditional tanning methods have become less popular these days because of major health risks. Because of this major finding in tanning several companies have provided tanning creams, lotions and spray to get a tanned skin even without the help of tanning beds or the sun. Most people prefer this type of artificial tanning since there is no significant health risk and the only damage a person may get from them is if their skins are too sensitive and the application may cause some allergy.
Among these innovations the one that is gaining the most popularity is the self tanning spray. This easy to use product is sprayed evenly on the skin and then all you have to do is wait for it to dry. Tanning products contain a chemical called dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This chemical acts an agent that triggers the amino acids in the skin to produce a great tan. Tanning products has been recognized by many as safe and effective and does not produce the great risk that traditional and tanning beds have. Applying a tanning spray is pretty easy, but there are some things that you need to know to achieve that perfect even tan. Here are five things that you should remember when you apply one.
Prepare your skin
Before you apply a tanning spray, make sure that your skin can handle the formulation. Read the instructions carefully and then apply a small amount of the spray in your body and wait for any allergic reactions or discoloration. In this way you can check the quality of the tanning spray and you reduce the risk of hurting your skin.
It is best that you remove all the dead skin cells in your body so that the spray will be more effective. The reason behind is that tanning sprays usually “stick” to the outer layer of your skin. So if your dead skin cells are still in your body, they will be ones that gets tanned, and your tan will not last long. Aside from this, healthy skin cells are very receptive to the tannig sprays and would hold them longer. Scrub your whole body using a loofah or any other scrub and make sure that you exfoliate your whole body especially the exposed parts.
Aside from scrubbing your body, be sure to apply a moisturizer a few hours before you apply your tanning spray. This softens your skin and it becomes more receptive, therefore making your tan last longer and absorbing it better.
Application strategies
Wear dark clothing because the spray sometimes discolors them. Aside from this, make sure that you have a pair of gloves that you can use to avoid discoloration in your hands. Although some prefer to use their hands to evenly apply the spray. Just be sure that you wash your hands right away after application to avoid further discoloration.
When you start spraying your body be sure to apply the tanning spray evenly. Prepare a towel or tissue to wipe off drips and make sure that you apply the spray in covered areas like the back of your ears to achieve and even color.
Final reminders
Make sure that you have evenly applied the spray, and make necessary adjustments if you find any discoloration. Stand still for about a minute to avoid dripping and uneven application. It is crucial that you do not move especially your joints since these areas can easily remove the application. Be sure to follow the instructions given in your kit and do not forget to apply a sun screen when you go out. Most tanning sprays contain a sun screen protection formula but it is best to apply it separately to ensure safety.
These three steps will give you that perfect tan you have been dreaming about. Just be sure to follow these reminders and all you have to do next is to find that perfect clothing that goes with your new tanned look.

Posted by Womens Issues in Beauty Articles on January 20th, 2010
The more I learn about skin care, the simpler it gets. Never mind the latest new-fangled face cream or serum. Nothing beats a skin care routine specifically designed to enhance your body’s natural ability to look after itself.
Here are my top six tips for a beautiful, glowing complexion.
1. Cleanse with cleansing milk
Cleansing milk contains more oil than water. It draws out grease and impurities without stripping the skin of its protective barrier.
Choose a PH-balanced cleansing milk with AHAs, such as lactic acid. This dissolves the ‘glue’ around dead skin cells and promotes regeneration.
Gently exfoliate once or twice a week using a warm, damp face cloth.
2. Don’t use a toner after cleansing
The outermost layer of your skin contains natural moisturizing factors (NMFs). Their job is to keep the skin moist and supple by attracting water. However, too much water can upset the delicate balance of NMFs and cause them to evaporate.
Regular use of toners, spritzers, water-based gels or any other ‘light moisturizers’ that contain more water than oil can deplete NMFs. Do your skin a favor and ditch these potential ‘de-moisturizers’.
3. Keep it simple
Some skincare products’ ingredient lists read like a high-school chemistry test. By law, of course, every single ingredient must have been thoroughly tested and passed as safe. But what about the combined effects of all these chemicals? Can it really be good for your long-term health to keep putting them in your body?
A good policy is to avoid chemicals wherever possible. Common skincare ingredients to steer clear of are: parabens (widely used as a preservative), mineral oil (which has no nutritional value), synthetic perfumes and synthetic colors.
4. Get a regular dose of antioxidants
Antioxidants help cancel out and reverse the damaging effects of free radicals.
This damage takes place at a molecular level and is thought to contribute to the appearance of wrinkles. You can’t stop it any more than you can give up your need for oxygen; all you can do is make sure your body is well stocked with antioxidants.
Skin care products often contain ingredients with antioxidant properties, such as vitamin A, vitamin E and rosemary extract. But plenty of foods do the job admirably. Among the best are beans (red, kidney, pinto), berries (blueberry, blackberry, cranberry, raspberry, strawberry), artichoke hearts, prunes, apples and pecans.
5. Protect against sun damage
Sunlight is a great source of vitamin D, essential for good bone health and a properly functioning immune system. But don’t overdo it – and choose your sun block carefully.
Prefer a sun block based on mineral reflectors such as titanium dioxide to one that uses chemical agents. Who knows if prolonged daily use of some of these chemical-based products might actually do more harm than good?
The face, neck and upper chest need extra protection. If out in direct sunlight, wear a wide-brimmed hat and use a parasol.
6. Maintain your skin’s natural protective barrier
The outermost layer of the skin is made up of flattened (keratinized) cells. These cells are quite different from the deeper skin layers. Their role is to protect and preserve; they are your first line of defense.
Skin that looks dull, dry and lifeless is out of balance. It no longer has the right mix of oils and water to do the job it was designed to do.
As we age, our body produces less sebum. This can lead to dry, flaky skin and the so-called visible signs of aging.
To restore the balance, you need to boost your intake of essential fatty acids. The right diet can help, but this is where a carefully formulated skin care product can really make a difference.
Look for a blend of natural, organic, cold-pressed, plant-based oils.
Conclusion
Your skin is amazing. In a perfect world, it would look after itself and we’d all have a naturally beautiful, glowing complexion. But in the world we live in, isn’t it worth taking these half dozen steps to help keep your skin looking and feeling wonderful?

Your Skin Care Routine
Posted by in Uncategorized on December 10th, 2009
We all know the importance of ‘personal skin care’. The opinion on how-to (for personal skin care) differs from person to person. Some people believe that going to beauty parlours every other day is personal skin care. Others believe that personal skin care is just a matter of applying some cream or lotion on your skin, every now and then. Then there are people who think that personal skin care is an event that happens once a month or once a year. Still others busy themselves with ‘personal skin care’ all the time. However, personal skin care is not that complicated and neither is it that expensive (considering how beneficial it is). Personal skin care is following a routine or a procedure for attending to the needs of your skin.
Even before you start with a routine, you need to determine your skin-type (oily, dry, sensitive, normal etc) and select the personal skin care products suitable for it (you might have to experiment with a few personal skin care products). Here is a routine that should work for most people with normal skin.
The first thing on personal skin care routine is ‘Cleansing’. The three main ingredients of a cleanser are oil, water and surfactants (wetting agents). Oil and surfactants extract dirt and oil from your skin and water then flushes it out, thus making your skin clean. You might have to try a couple of cleansers before you find the one that suits you the best. However, you should always use soap-free cleansers. Also, you should use Luke warm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to your skin). Take care that you don’t over-cleanse your skin and end up damaging your skin in the process.
The second thing on the personal skin care routine is exfoliation. Skin follows a natural maintenance process wherein it removes the dead cells and replaces them with new skin cells. Exfoliation is just a way to facilitate the skin in this process. Dead skin cells are not capable of responding to personal skin care products but still consume these products, hence preventing them from reaching the new skin cells. Thus removing dead skin cells is important in order to increase the effectiveness of all personal skin care products. Generally, exfoliation takes it place just after cleansing. As with any personal skin care procedure, it’s important that you understand how much exfoliation you need. Exfoliate 4-5 times per week for oily/normal skin and 1-2 times per week for dry/sensitive skin. Exfoliate a couple of times more in hot and humid weather.
Next thing on personal skin care routine is moisturizers. This is one of the most important things in personal skin care. Even people with oily skin need moisturisers. Moisturisers not only seal the moisture in your skin cells, but also attract moisture (from air) whenever needed. Use of too much moisturiser can however clog skin pores and end up harming your skin. The amount of moisturiser needed by your skin will become apparent to you within one week of you using the moisturiser. Also, applying the moisturiser is best when your skin is still damp.
The last thing on personal skin care routine is sunscreen. A lot of moisturizers (day-time creams/moisturisers) come with UV protection – so you can get double benefits from them. Such moisturisers are recommended for all days (irrespective of whether it is sunny or cloudy).
Again, experiment with various personal skin care products and also with the amount you need to apply. What gives you best results is the best personal skin care recipe for you. However, if you have some kind of skin dilemma, it is best to consult your dermatologist before you actually start using any personal skin care products.
